Randy wanted my Mediterranean Fish tonight. So here it is. There is a fish fillet under all that luscious tomato and olive and basil. The asparagus is steamed cause I just couldn't maneuver roasting that in the same oven as the fish at two different temps. I find that it really is next to impossible to mess up asparagus. We have been eating at least 3 nights a week on our patio this spring. Just in the last week it's gotten really hot, too hot to eat early. But today was a little rainy and overcast and much cooler. We enjoyed the patio even if it was a little humid. I find that when we eat outside, with no TV or telephone to distract us we talk. We connect and relate. Whether the food is fair, good, great or spectacular, I really enjoy the meal with my husband. Of course we have the iPod dock outside so there is music. Sometimes he insists on his iPod and not mine, but I don't mind cause it's a nice time with him.
So I casually mentioned on Facebook that my husband and I were on a mission or endeavor to perfect the grilled steak, in our own home. I commented that we would try several different cuts and make notes on what works best for each cut. I got a lot of comments and encouragement. My school days and Facebook friend Lesa Parker Miller suggested I blog the journey. Lesa has a fabulous blog herself and is quite accomplished at this sort of thing, so my first reaction was that I just couldn't do this, because Lesa would be in on my little caper and I would surely come up wanting in my efforts. My husband too, has a blog of his own. He's a good writer and doesn't hesitate to critique my efforts, so there's that, too. Then I thought maybe I just need to blog about something to keep me interested in the universe. So here goes. I think this blog will be whatever is occupying my time and mind at any given time. 99.9% of the world's population will be completely disinterested, as they should be. Perhaps, I may express something somebody will find moderately worthwhile. I will surely document that steak thing, but you can't or shouldn't eat a big hunk o' beef every day, so I'll share some other stuff too.
